Tour Overview
Full Walking Tour Of Bruges In A Small GroupDiscover the fascinating medieval city of Bruges, a stunning destination full of wonders waiting to be explored. Embark on a tour of the Venice of the North that will leave you enchanted with all that you will see and the explanations of our expert local guide. Since 2000, the entire Old Town of Bruges has been recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so come and discover it all with us and your expert local guide!
Our first stop will be the Lake of Love, also known as Minnewater, a real paradise that used to be the city's harbour. Today, this place welcomes us with a magnificent natural setting surrounded by meadows and dream houses, making it one of the most beautiful postcards of Bruges. We will then head to the Beguinage, founded in the 13th century, one of the great attractions of the medieval city, where our guide will explain all the historical details.
We will continue our tour to Walplein Square, a haven of peace where you can relax and enjoy all its wonders. From there, we will enter the Stoofstraat, one of the narrowest streets in Bruges. Don't miss the opportunity to visit St. John's Hospital, the oldest hospital in the city, nowadays converted into the St. John's Museum and Memling Museum, one of the most important cultural centres of the city.
Our next destination will be the majestic Church of Our Lady, a medieval construction that houses the tallest tower in the city. How high do you think it is? From there, we will head towards the imposing Palace of the Lords Gruuthuse, one of the finest examples of Gothic style to be found in Bruges.
We can't miss the charming Dyver Canal, one of the most beautiful canals in the city, which, although smaller than other canals in Bruges, has a special charm and offers some of the best views of the city. Afterwards, we will head to the Rosary Quay, the perfect place to immerse ourselves in the true essence of Bruges.
We will continue our tour until we reach the Tanners' Square, a historic place where the old guilds that sustained the city's economy used to congregate. We will also explore the Castle Square, home to some of the most impressive buildings in Bruges, such as the Town Hall.
Before ending our tour, we will stop at the Basilica of the Holy Blood, a Catholic church that houses the relic of the blood of Christ. Reality or myth? Finally, our activity will conclude at the Market Square and its iconic Belfry or Belfort in Flemish.
At the end of the tour, if you wish, you will have the opportunity to enjoy an enchanting 30-minute boat ride to discover many of Bruges' secret corners (not included in the tour price, optional and at your own expense). Although not as famous as the canals of Venice, the canals of Bruges will certainly captivate you.
