Tour Overview
Hanoi Half-Day Tour With Lunch And PickupHanoi, gracefully set along the banks of the Red River, is one of the world’s most ancient capitals. The city blends timeless heritage with vibrant life, where travelers can explore well-preserved colonial buildings, historic pagodas, sacred temples, and fascinating museums right in the city center. Our Hanoi City Tour offers a rich introduction to the cultural and historical treasures of the capital, with the option to enjoy either a morning or an afternoon program.
Morning Tour
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel and begin the journey through Hanoi’s highlights. The first stop is Tran Quoc Pagoda, beautifully set on Golden Fish Island in West Lake. Built in the 6th century, it is considered the oldest pagoda in Hanoi and a serene introduction to the city’s spiritual traditions.
Continue to the Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you will walk through the tranquil gardens and visit the two modest houses where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked from 1954 to 1969. Nearby stands the One Pillar Pagoda, an architectural icon dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy and renowned worldwide for its unique design.
Next, visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, where captivating exhibits showcase the culture and traditions of the country’s 54 ethnic groups. On Mondays, when the Ethnology Museum is closed, the tour instead explores the Women’s Museum, an equally fascinating perspective on Vietnam’s social history.
Before returning to your hotel, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch featuring a variety of delicious local dishes.
Afternoon Tour
Begin with a flavorful Vietnamese lunch, offering the chance to savor a set menu of traditional dishes. Afterwards, continue your discovery of Hanoi with a visit to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, founded in the 11th century and dedicated to Confucius. This is one of the country’s most iconic sites, symbolizing centuries of learning and culture.
The tour then heads to Hoa Lo Prison Museum, a somber yet important historical landmark. Originally used by the French colonial administration to detain political prisoners, it later housed American POWs during the Vietnam War, who grimly nicknamed it the “Hanoi Hilton.”
The afternoon concludes with your return to the hotel, leaving you with a deeper understanding of Hanoi’s remarkable past and present
